Posts: 201 | I decided to get rid of my 1810 Predator since it really wasn't fitting the multispecies platform I was looking for. I wanted a tiller boat that was wider, and had better rod storage. Checked out a lot of stuff. Ranger 175T, Competitor, Recon, Pro Guide, Backtroller. Ended up ordering a 1725 Pro Guide with 75hp 4 Stroke Mercury. Hoping it will be here in time for the Spring Walleye run.

Posts: 52 | Nice boat for sure! We have a 2010 Pro Guide with a 175 Opti Max. We call it the floating pier. The power steering makes all the difference. Have fun!!

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Congrats! That should be a very nice boat for you. I love tillers and you'll have a lot of room in that boat. You said you looked at Recon. Do they offer tiller boats now? Last time I looked on their site it didn't look like they had any tiller options.

Posts: 201 | No Recon doesn't offer tillers, but that rod storage was too nice to not at least be checked out.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Thanks for the info. I really love tillers but their layout almost has me considering one anyway. I think I'm still dreaming over a Tuffy 1760T, but I like the rod storage, and really like how their rear deck wraps around the sides. Really extends the space for the person in back, which is tough to do in tillers. I wish they would make one in a tiller as I'd be very tempted to give one a shot.

Posts: 206 | I think for casting deck space for a couple guys it would be hard to beat the open gunnel version of the Tuffy 1760 tiller with a rear casting platform. That's some serious elbow room for a 17 footer. For a slightly lighter version, I hope the proposed x-176 will offer a similar interior tiller layout as a comparison point. I would assume that would get into a little skinnier water at times for those of us river fisherman.

Posts: 43 | That's the boat I want. I have been considering possibly an older explorer tiller, then just upgrade the components. I live in ny so used tillers are far and few between especially if your looking for something in particular. The pro guide 1725 is a rig I have been considering for the last yr. with a 75 e-tech it's a pricy lil boat. Still trying to decide if I want to spend that kind of money. Love the boat though. Good luck, put up a pots after you fish from it.

Posts: 201 | My Marina doesn't carry Warrior. They buy trucks from me, so I'm obligated to buy boats from them. I'm pretty excited, this is going to be a much better multispecies boat than my Predator, plus the new electronics are going to rock. Really excited about I Pilot Link.

Note: the 600 series is not networkable. MSRP on the 688 is $499. if you want to spend an extra $100, you can get an 859 for $599. Or, as I recently did, you could get a discontinued 788 for $350. I don't know all of the differences between the old 700 series (which they seem to be phasing out) and the new 600 series are, but if the units are networkable, they can share waypoints, routes, etc. Moreover if you ever get an iPilot Link, which you should, then both networked units can communicate with the trolling motor. The 688 cannot share waypoints or communicate with iPilot link. Food for thought. Pm if you want to know where I ordered the 788 for $350 (MSRP $699). smbrickner - 2/6/2014 6:52 PM I'm putting on the 999 hd ci si and a 688 on the front. The reason I want the 600 series over something larger is that I also use that locator for ice fishing and the larger series won't fit in the Humminbird Kit. I am getting I pilot link which will work off the rear locator and of course I will have the remote. While it would be nice to have the functionality from the front as well, then I have to buy yet another unit for ice fishing and didn't want to do that. Besides I fish from the back for everything but bass.

Posts: 201 | Side storage is 8'6 (same as my Predator). So it won't fit all my Musky rods but I am ok with that.
