Saw thousands of these in the water at Lake Kinkaid. Did not pay much attention to them until my lure dragged one in. They are all over the trees in this one bay. Jelly like and very heavy! I was afraid to touch it. It fell off my lure when I tried to take it off the hook with a wet towel. Broke into a bunch of pieces. I had to Google it when I got home. Never knew they even existed!!! They really look creepy when you get them in the boat!!!

Thanks for the info Bob! I have seen them for years on Kinkaid and have never taken the time to research them. I assumed they were some sort of fungus.

Yeah, I have never seen them before either! I would have probably forgotten to look them up if I had not brought one into the boat while fishing!

They have been in Wisc. lakes for years.Wobikon & Indian Lake off Hy.8 Had them back in the 80's. Was told they were snall egg's
