Location: Brainerd,MN | In my neck of the woods [central Minnesota] our chapter has been kind of dormant. I received a letter today about reorganization of our chapter. Is there any advice out there that would help us grow and become successful? And, what do you fellow hawg hunters expect and like to see in a chapter? |

Location: Greenfield, WI | Find a project to work on such as raising your own muskies, or I you don't have the facilities and man power, set a goal to raise money to purchase a designated number of fingerlings (the bigger they are at release the better
for survival) from a private vendor such as the Minnesota Muskie Farm. Make the release/delivery date a social event.
I have been with the Milwaukee Chapter of Muskies Inc. and on their Board Of Directors, for approaching 20 years. The secret, if there is one to an active chapter, is the people. Some are organizers, some are workers, some just supporters. Contact Ron Groeschl, of our Chapter at [email protected], or 262-789-1255. Ron is the backbone behind the Pewaukee Lake Study which has been going on for 5 years. I am sure that you have read about our study as it has been published in all the muskie magazines. Ron is a wealth of information and would be more than happy to talk to you about your Chapter. Good Luck.

| Actually the Minn DNR has told us not to raise fish they produce an excess amount that they just dump the excess in the river with very little chance of survival,,they would like the Minnesota muskies inc chapters to bank a little cash for when the dnr muskie program need it,,bad year for minnows,or buying protective netting from cormorants on the clearwater rearing ponds,,,For A PROJECT do some leg work and find a lake with suitable habitat and convince the lake owners to want it to become a muskie lake,,we have plenty of muskie stock available we NEED more lakes

Just last week I spoke at the Between The Lakes Chapter, you may want to look in Muskie magazine and contact either Ted or Ellen or one of the other people.
I learned they have taken their chapter from 50 to 120 or so members in the past 18 months.
They are certainly doing something right.
