Think this is beefy enough for Muskies? Ive had it for years and never a issue with it and caught a few skis with it but mostly used baits less then few oz. Its about the size of the new 300s or Toro 50 and wondering if I should use it on a extra rod and what it can handle.
Trying to set the GF with her own rod. Rod Is a MI select 8ft heavy.

It's a bass reel, but could be used for muskies. I've got several that I use for bass and they have been very durable after years of heavy use. I could see using it for small bucktails, 6" jakes etc, but I wouldn't use it for big baits.

I already talked myself into getting a new reel for her. I know its a bass reel but it has been very good to me over the years. I doubt she will ever get into throwing big baits so I contemplated just using it, but decided I might as well get her, her own reel.
