On the V, +1 on the Vermilion Club for pizza. For party atmosphere it's hard to beat Bayview, and I've always been a fan of the Wayside Cafe...

In Vilas I third Hillside, by far my favorite place in the northwoods. In MN its Izzy's in Warroad nothing better then a few beers anticipating what the week ahead is going to bring! Then of course stumblimg back to the super 8!

achotrod - 1/3/2014 2:50 PM White Tail Inn and Blink Bonnies is hard to beat in St Germain. Oh and Dont Forget to stop in Paul Bunyans in Minocqua on your way home for a loggers meal!

Two thumbs up for the White Tail Inn and Blink Bonnies. Blink Bonnies steaks on cast iron skillets and butter are the only steaks finer than the ones I cook at home on the grill for myself and my family.

Blink Bonnie's could use some new taxidermy, however! Lol

Yes, or Slims bar. The Outdoorsman in Walker is another regional favorite of mine, they have a great breakfast burrito.

Pike Hole on the North end of Cass has good bar food too, close to the cabin doesn't hurt either...

17th Street Bar & Grill in Murphysboro (Kinkaid Lake)...THE BEST ribs anywhere. Only place to ever win the Memphis rib cook off 3 years and they have also been on the Food channel.

Holy Canoli somewhere in Wisconsin (middle of state)...stumbled on it in a SMALL town on the way to Wausau show. GREAT family owned Italian eatery!

If you're in Western MN, no better supper club than The Peak. Best prime rib I've ever had! Plus you can burn some of that off with a hike to the top of Inspiration Peak. Nice view.

i'm a mom n pop's place lover so we've gotten hooked (no pun intended) on the Spider Lake Cafe about 20 min E of Hayward...Spider Lake motel offers really cheap stay too, for guys on a budget, with public launches nearby.
