| My oldest boy is 9. Without breaking the bank....What advice do you have for his first muskie rod and reel? I was thinking 6500C with a seven foot rod. Thoughts? Looking to throw mid size lures. All purpose rod and reel? Thanks! |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | For a rod I'd suggest the TI youth rod and then probably look for a used Curado 300, Toro 50, or a lexa 300. A Calcutta 400B could be a good option depending on what your total overall budget is but I'm not sure how well it would fit in a 9 year olds hand, thus why I suggested the low profile routes. |

| How about a nice TI youth rod $80 and a Lexa 300 $140 seems this would be Ideal for a Young Gun......Mike Sr |

| Toothtamer Mag-Medium is Great! My kids use it... it is very versitle, light and durable... Throw 6" jakes, some topwaters, and regular size dream catchers with ease.... |

Location: ON | 9 years old, need a much smaller reel than a 6500 for sure.
Without breaking the bank, Lexa 300 and 7'whatever MH. Throw some single bladed bucks, 5-6" cranks, and spinnerbaits. |
