| Has anybody used these chips on LOTW? i am in the market for a chip, and have not heard a lot about these chips. I have been looking at the past posts and it seems like it is a draw between lakemaster, and navionics.
Also i have a HDS 7 and a 522c, can i link these two units so i don't have to have two cards? Thanks |

| I have the Pro chip and it is a great addition for those lakes included in the high-def category. From the Lowrance website, LOTH is included as high-def:
High-resolution 1-to 3-foot depth contours on more than 650 lakes in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin – plus Lake of the Woods and Rainy Lake.
Mapping cards will now share among units with the latest software update, but only HDS Gen2 units linked by Ethernet. |

| Thanks for the info. I have 2 of the older lakemaster chips for my lowrance units . seeing as you had to buy the LOTW chips seperate i didnt get them at the time. |

| It depends WHERE in LOW you are planning to go. I used this chip along with a Navionics platinum while on a week long camping trip in LOW this past summer. We were roughly 22 miles West/NW of Sioux Narrows by water to the island we camped on.
The Lowrance Lake Insight Pro chip at 1 foot contours to within 1 mile to the South of this island. Beyond that there was NOTHING. No contour lines, nothing.
The Navionics chip while it didnt have high definition, it did have hazard and navigation routes marked so that was helpful.
So, if you are fishing roughly the Southern Half of the Lake I would say you are golden with the Lowrance Chip. If you head North, there really isnt a great option that I have found, but at least the Navionics Platinum had hazards, etc. |

| I would say, that provided you fishing within 20 miles of Oak island then the Lowrance Chip should have the exact same detail that the LakeMaster Lake of the Woods/Rainy chip had. I would say with 90% certainty that would be the best chip you could get for that area. Its such a huge area, I could take some pics of my GPS at some specific locations if you wanted, but it would be a crap shoot on where you wanted to see. Its so huge. |

| Look at the Navionics+ you will get the High Def 1' contours called SonarCharts or Fish n Chips on the sonar plotters. Navionics + lets you choose the area you want to fish and load them to the Navionics + chip. Navionics recently released Sonar Charts for Canada for more detail, I believe there where some legalities involved earlier but it cleared up.
The web app doesn't show Canada in SonarCharts but I can get you some screenshots if you want to post a general gps coordinate
Here are some screen shots off the mobile app which will have the same detail. The first is waypoint on the Canadian side of LOTW with SonarCharts then some other screen shots of LOTW. The bottom shows Oak Island with Sonarcharts off.
Are you running a Gen 1 or 2 Lowrance? If you have a Gen 2 you can get depth shading , Rock filtering and shallow water highlight with Navionics, which would be helpful up their (rocks)

| Krith, I am going to have to check into the new features of Navionics you mention. I used the Platinum chip last summer in LOW and it was helpful, just not in High Definition detail. If that embargo was lifted and I can get that detail now I certainly want to get it. |
