I have a Revo Toro Winch I use for double 10s and have no complaints. I see Abu Garcia had Revo NaCl which has a higher gear ration and picks up more line per crank. Will the NaCl retrievie double 10s as easily as a Winch?

I have a tranx pg and hg . there not the same reel but one is high speed one low speed.yes I can use the high speed for big blades but my low gear turns big blades into butter

He asked about the NaCl... The NaCl 5:4:1 with the power handle handles 10s well, but not as easily as a winch. I haven't been fatigued by the NaCl. The slightly higher speed allows a little more versatility for different baits as well.

the nacl 5.4 with a power handle is awesome for double 10's, i had a winch to start and the 5.4 is wayyyyy better imo

I was just saying the low gear works great on big blades better then a high speed

The 5.4:1 gears will have 4 more inches of line pickup, the winch, which has 22 inches and the 5.4:1 is 26. The 5.4:1 will not be as easy to turn as the winch but should be OK. The 6.4 gears will bring in DCG 10-13 but I like see someone do that all day long LOL LOL

Maybe I need to use a lower gear to see how much better it is but I have a NaCl 6.4:1 and 10s are not an issue at all. Might not last forever though???? I used to use a LEWS 7.1:1 TP and that was a chore with 10s. So maybe compared to what I had the NaCl is just that much better.

I have the same NACL 6.4 and I don't even like it for 8's. Not enough power for my liking. I wouldn't even consider throwing 10's on that reel.

Bought a 5:1 Lexa for all my blades going forward.

Burning being a relative term. That reel will not allow you to "burn" tens, but no question it's easier to retrieve them

I have the Nacl 6:4:1 and I can throw double 10's fine and double 13's aren't an issue either

Would the NaCl compare to the Revo Toro reeling double 10s? I have a Winch and the Revo Toro which is higher speed and the Revo Toro is more difficult to reel than the Winch.

. I here ya, depends on the bulldozer cranking the reel I guess. You say tens and 13s r no problem and this other guy says he don't like to pull 8s with his 6.4.I say I can crank 10's fast enough with my winch that they bulge out of the water without much effort, but I guess others would say you "can't burn 10's with a winch" but hey, maybe not with your puny arm.winch works blades for me, very well.to each his own I guess.pass the Yeager!

As U see alot of different opinions, I guess a Zebco 33 could bring in a DCG also LOL LOL LOL to each there own. I would use a 5.3 Naci for DCG which is the best all around gears, 6.4 gears for Topwater or Jerkbaits for fast line pickup and the 4.6 gears for slow rolling DCG at night.
Burning a DCG U will need a reel that has a line pickup greater then 30 inches and is built for it like a Saltist, Tranx, Trinidad, Lexa 400, 700 TE.

Guys pikemaster is giving you spot on analysis on what reels work the best for what...he is setting you up perfectly for comfort, etc. The next key is to focus on what the fish want...NOT what your reeling arm wants lol. Ill tell you right now my catch rates have gone up in the summer months reeling bucktails faster with reels like the revo toro hs pulling 10s. I don't think its much work at all with proper boat control. Then again I'm 200#s and 25 years old lol. Point is to be a better fisherman you need to give the fish what they want...not your arm. Take a break and throw a topwater , jerk or crank for awhile. Good luck to all and pikemaster thanks again for your great input!

Good Point I'm 58 years young and not a 25 year old buck LOL LOL so my point of view is more on comfort and what works for all day long. When the Muskies want it fast I reach for my Tranx, other wise I use a ConQuest, Calcutta D, Toro, and EXO reels for most of my day casting.
