I'm looking at starting to make my own quick strike rigs. I was told/advised to use 49 strand 175lb for the leader wires. I'm looking at the AFW brand. The diameter of the leader wire is .91mm. My question is what size sleeve do I use? Do I want one with a diameter close to that (the wire) or double that diameter so the wire can be looped and then pulled back through before I crimp it? Also, any recommendations on what kind (double vs. single) and size of swivels to use?
I am looking at trying to make some rigs smaller then what is sold through most retailers (for use with suckers 6-7" suckers). I plan to just just use a single (smaller) treble hook in the back.
I hope this us the right thread for this question/topic. I really appreciate any advice /guidance.

175 lb test is probably overkill. AFw has a great 49 strand leader wire in a 90 lb test. Very flexible and easy to tie. No need for sleeves. I get from amazon. Go to amazon, then punch in AFw wire. Look for the 49 strand non coated. The stuff is awesome!!! Kind of pricey, BUT worth it!

Here's the link from the Musky Shop site that shows the specs and what sleeve size to use on the 49 strand Surflon. http://www.muskyshop.com/modules/cart/products.php/keys/AFW+wir...
