Location: Sheldon, IA | My brother-in-law has a '97 90HP Honda motor with low hours. We are having problems getting it started when it is warm or cold. We have to choke and crank it numerous times before it will start. Has anyone else experienced similiar problems with this motor? Or does anyone have some advice to correct the problem? Thanks.

| Being six years old with low hours I bet the carbs are gummed up. Doe's it run good after warming up? If you don't use a fuel conditioner like stabil, gas will get gummed up and cause problems with your fuel system. My 90 Honda can be a little cold blooded unless the weather is warm. I would try using a Honda reccommended gas treatment, if that don't work it may be time to see your dealer. |

Location: Sheldon, IA | Thanks for the info Musky39. Last summer was his first season with this boat so we were not sure if Honda's were hard starters. It does run fine once it is started. We'll give this a try. Thanks. |

Location: Red House WV | I have a 2000 model Honda 130 hp.Though I have had no problems I received a letter last fall from Honda Marine telling me that next time I had it in the dealers that for no cost to me they would install a new fuel pump as some have been faulty. I don't know if this could possibly be the case with yalls 90 HP or not. Wish you luck on it. |
