I plan on spending tow months on LOTW Jul. 15th to Sept. 15th. Narrowed my search to Buena Vista or Mylies Place. We will park the motor home and mukies exclusively of course. Any input from you LOTW experts would be most welcome.

My time with muskies is winding down after 42 years and this is kinda the last harrah. At best we may have four or five years left.

Thanks in advance to anyone that replies to old guys swansong;

Nice campground and bath/showers with restaurant at Buenna Vista but easier to get out from Mylies.

Mylies. Justin is a good guy, he'll help you find fish. You can always get in or out, something that may not be the case elsewhere. And you can catch fish right in front of camp!

The crew @ Mylies is top notch... Either is a solid choice but if I had to pick one it would be Mylies...

If you have a motor home you might have to go to Buenna Vista.They have a daily and weekly campground.

Justin does run a good camp. Other camps in the area include: Red Wing, Buena Vista, Ontario Wilderness Houseboats, Obabikon, Grassy Narrows, Spruce Island and us Tamarack Island Wilderness Lodge.

Is there good smallie, laker or walleye fishing in the same areas in Canada where the muskie fishing is good? My dad does not like fishing for muskies too much and I am going to try to convince him to do a combo trip as a compromise. Any recommendations on resorts? Any recommendations for other lakes with a good combo potential?

Pipestone Lake, Manitou Lake, Crow Lake, or maybe the west side of Eagle Lake

Thanks Brian. So I take it LOTW is not all that good for other species around the muskie waters?

LOTW is one of the best walleye fisheries in north America.It is one of the top ten crappie spots and has huge northerns with out going 400 miles north.It also has a great smallmouth population.Everything is there for you to fish.

I withheld LOTW because you mentioned Lakers... They are only in one section of the lake (Whitefish Bay) which does have Muskies but is not as good as other sections of the lake in that regard

Kenora area (in particular Clearwater bay) has a good population of lakers as well, LOTW fishes like about 7 or 8 different lakes, its an extraordinary multi-species lake....its so huge, it even has some amazing largemouth fishing if you know where to look...ive caught 1/2 dozen 4 to 5 lb bucketmouths in a day
