Good deals, and even better, great time just talking with other guys. At the show you are focused on the products, and the reps, but at the swap it is just more sharing info with other goofs like me. Even pick up a sweet deal or two. Keep the swap going!

Posts: 8866 | Whuh... It's hurting the retailers! Why should someone be able to go to the swap and buy perfectly good gear for half of what it costs new, just because someone else already paid full price for it and decided they didn't want it? If those same folks had no other avenue to buy used equipment, they'd be forced to buy everything new! There should be a rule. There should be a law. If you buy anything musky related, you should have to buy it new. And if you decide it's not for you, than you should be forced to keep it anyway, because selling it is just wrong.

Posts: 1168 | Really that dumb? Wow. Some anonymous retailers were making that complaint last year around the time of the shows. I'd guess their sales were lacking for other reasons. Edited by MartinTD 11/21/2013 10:49 AM

And Ben is sometimes less than aware of reality here in the Midwest, being from Colorado and all.[/ I am pretty sure I created the swap meet. Yes, Ben was in on the first ever swap meet organizing committee. Went something like this: "hey, let's all get together at a bar and trade baits after the show".

Location: Illinois | Great news about the swap being held at the hotel. It is so much safer and convenient. Is it the same holiday inn as previous years, or is it a new TriEsox HQ? I know there are a few H.I.'s in the area. Parking might be tight! Was this change of venue Ben's idea also?
