First let me say I have a new Curado 6/1 ratio , a Revo Toro 5/1 ratio ,a Luna 5/1 ratio, and a new Lexa 300.5/1 ratio...... These are all great reels and any of them would be great to cast with all day without being fatigued....However One day I actually wanted to compare one reel to the other. They all had the same braid on them, so I simply tested each reel on the same Rod a 8' tournament series rod. I used the same short floro leader and started casting and using different lures to see how the reels reacted and differed......They were all very similar using surface lures But as soon as I started putting on Subsurface lures or bucktails that when it changed.. The Lexa remained smooth and effortless to reel in medium/lg bucktails and the lures that where under the water with medium resistance. The other three reels did not feel as smooth, you could feel the resistance /pressure on the reel. I was totally not expecting this at all as this was the least expensive reel out of the four of them....I tried the test several times and each time with the same results.....The Lexa 300 was my pick each time I performed the test. I purchased another 300 5/1 so I now have two and absolutely love them, they are half the price of the other reels this size and out perform them.....I was told about these reels a year ago by a Guide , Josh MuskyChimes that swore these were the best out there but he had the 4-9/1 gears in his and I could not find them in this ratio at the time .He said they will be on the market soon and I waited and waited Then BINGO two months ago I found out that the 5/1 were finally released and on the market.... I think these reels are the Bomb**** Mike Sr.

Pros -- Light, Inexpensive, great casting distance, gear ratio..5/1
Cons-- No line out clicker,

We picked one up for my son this spring and he fished the whole season w/the
Lexa 300 high speed and also a revo toro HS60. He was very happy w/the lexa.
Had no problems w/it over the course of the first season. I like how it looks & feels...
it is a very smooth reel.
