| I have heard of 5 fish over 54 inches from this last week big fish are biting, then ya gotta think of the guys who fish up there and dont say a peep lots of good sticks up there on the giant search |

| The thing is that there are a lot of boats up there to..... circling the same spots. You don't hear about all the guys that don't get fish either.
I was up there for 3 days fishing, fishing some of the same spots as "the big time guides" and I didn't even see a fish.

Location: Waconia, MN | Time on the water and being on the right spot at the right time when that small window opens for those fish to eat is key. I was up there last weekend and we saw some, and couldn't seal the deal. I'll be back at it starting tomorrow! |

| Pretty dangerous out there with how windy it has been. Even when the forecast is for relatively calm wind, more times than not it is still windy anyway. Casting huge lures in 3 foot waves with all the heavy clothing/boots with water temps around 40 is about as dangerous as it gets. Be careful out there. |

Location: Probably Minnesota that time... | True, and some dummies think they can fish these spots in a bass boat. Seen several come over the bow up close... trying to fish the right spots. Best to be safe than sorry. Never seems to be calm there for me...but we try anyway. |

Some of Hamernick's clients are first timer's ,fishing out of the front of his bass boat too. Not too many places to hide on that lake. |

| I'll take a z boat any day over a high sided lund, alumacraft or vs even just to be able to maintain precise boat control. Hammer and those guys know exactly where and how to set up a lure in the water at the exact spot that will catch fish. And the way to do that is with boat control. If the waves get too substantial for a 20 foot glass z boat to handle then you prolly shouldnt be fishing anyways.
Anyways some great looking fish coming out of there. Good job guys. It's why we fish this time of year for memories like that. |

bingo,...yep ! Those high sided boats get blown around more so than the ones I mentioned,.... I've fished in them before ......It's all about boat control,.... when waves start coming over the bow it's time to get off the water....

| Jason def is not fishing out of a Ranger 620 these days as I was with him a few weeks back. ML is def not the type of lake to visit with cold water temps if you don't know the lake well. The wind can change on that lake despite what the forecast says and you better hope your equipment works well with ice on batteries, bilge pumps, etc this time of year. I fish out of a 620 and we pack the boat completely different when we are on that water late in the year. Have your throwable on a rope in case u go in. Extra clothes, dry compartments,etc. Ice on the carpet while u fish up front will make u a tad nervous when the bow hits a big wave. It is one thing to jig out of the drivers seat for walleye, a bit different to stand up front while into a figure 8. We all have stayed out too long and know we are stupid. How Hammer does it day after day is beyond me. After 5 days I feel like I've been beat up. That's child's play to that guy. Stay safe. |
