Hey all first ever post! I have been muskie fishing for a few years and have always had some luck but this fall and winter i plan on getting out and fishing more. I was wondering what are some of you guys favorite lures and colors to throw in the Pa rivers?

White, orange, fire perch/tiger...yep, that's about it.

My go-to lures are single 8's, 5"-6" shallow crankbaits, and gliders in the 5"-8" range. My main river here in PA averages 3' deep, hence the shallow baits. On deeper stretches I'll throw some TI Mini D's and some deeper cranksbaits.

Where in the Commonwealth will you be fishing? Dark water reservoirs or crystal clear rivers and natural lakes? (Well, there aren't any crystal clear lakes in PA, so don't look for them.) Sometimes the cleaner parts of say the Allegheny River run pretty clear. I'm no expert, but I can pass on some traditional wisdom. The 5.5" Wiley lure has a good track record in PA and elsewhere. The 6.5" Wiley is good as well. An accomplished angler who goes by the call name "Allegheny River Kid" once said that firetiger pattern had been good to him. In the dark water reservoirs the skis probably feed a lot on bluegills. Take a hint? I would use quality lures with a good track record in natural patterns to start--maybe going a little bit funkier if the natuals don't produce. Don't go too big.
