With the temps dropping, 52 this morning in the MN metro area, will things stabilize by Sunday or is it going to be a tough bite? I know temps are supposed to go back up next week but this weekend would you focus more on slow vs fast? Glider vs. bucktail?

I tend to reverse my thinking this time of year in that a cool down can be a good thing for fish activity.

Sometimes it can be hard to remember that these aren't cooldowns but average seasonal temps. Its just a weird year!

This is peak bucktail season, at least for my boat.

Throw on a bucktail and bump shallow.

I ended up sticking a 32" on a cyco spinnerbait and a 35" on a dirtyb, both tigers.

Are any of you guys moving fish in the shallows? I haven't put too much time into it myself, but notice a lot of people are.

It would be nice if we could simply get a nice gradual drop in temps vs the yo yoing and warm fronts we're seeing.

I'd start about 2 cast's off the structure and then work my way in,.... If I don't see any skie's there then I will check really shallow (like1-2 ft of water) Cool down's are a bit tricky to figure out.... Look for current.

WTF people? is everyone on this site just searching for free info? does no one caare to help a fellow musky fanatic? how can there possibly be 2500 people who saw this and didnt care to have the time or the knowledge to share at least a few words of wisdom with a fellow musky fisherman. lets try and loosen up a little...

Maybe it's because "what is the fishing going to be like" is a question that can only be answered by telling the original poster to go out there and fish and find out...

Most of the 2500 people that viewed this are like me, working 50 weeks a year and not on the water to have any idea what the fish are doing on any given day! We're just looking around the site trying to get a little "Musky Fix" til the next time we can get out on the water. It will most likely be mid June before my Hawg Wobbler gets wet again.......Uh, you know what I mean.

I'm going to northern MN this fall and have little to no experience with the cool down. So I have no input for this thread but am very interested to see what people are saying/suggesting. My 2cents is.... cooler water = fatter fish.
