I have an lowrance hds 10 that needs the new updates. Im no computer dude. Has anyone found an easy way to do it. Im all confused on zip files and all that stuff. Any help out there.

Download the file from the website onto a blank sd card. Plug the card into the unit. Turn it on. Updates automatically.

One of the most common mistakes people make is that they don't unzip the downloaded file first. The file must be unzipped and then the .upd file is what needs to be placed on the SD card. This should also help: http://www.lowrance.com/Global/Lowrance/Documents/Support/HDSGen2_u...
