Posts: 633 Location: Madison, WI | My Tuffy 1760 constantly fills with water while fishing no matter if the switch is on auto/empty/ or recirculate? I thought maybe that the water is coming in through the drain so i bought a plug but today she still filled full. Where else would it be coming in?

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Depends on the model year. Look under the floor access panel on models since 2010, and in the bilge on earlier models. The valve may be bad as well, they do wear out eventually.

Posts: 218 | I owned 2 Tuffys, and in both, water entered the live well through the overflow. I used a cork to plug the overflow so I could use the live well as dry storage. Ray

Posts: 52 | My 2012 X-190 does the same thing. I put it on rec. before entering the water and it will still fill up about 1/2 way. I'd love to put an end to it. Steve, as for the cable what are we looking for(bent/broken/unhooked)?

Posts: 84 | I have a 2006 esox deep v and I have had the same issue since I bought it. It's more annoying than anything. half a livewell of water in a 52" livewell is alot of weight in the back of the boat ![]()

Posts: 298 | I have a 2008 1760GT. Had the same problem and fixed it by buying a cheap rubber plug and putting that in the drain hole in the bottom of the livewell. Now I have an extra wet/dry storage compartment. Rain water will make it's way in there as the lid has a rubber gasket but there is no lip like the completely dry front storage compartments. This was a big problem for me as I have a Yammie 75 tiller and any extra weight makes a difference on planing time etc. That livewell holds a LOT of water. If I want to use the livewell I still can just simply pull the plug.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | Hey Nick, That livewell shouldn't fill up unless you have it on (fill) though should it? What's different about the setup on the Tuffsters?

Posts: 298 | I agree that it shouldn't fill up but it does. I spent time fiddling with the selector and what not but got tired of it. I don't need a livewell any how so the black rubber plug solution works for me. Appears to be a relatively common problem based on this thread.

Posts: 633 Location: Madison, WI | I tried the cheap plug and put it on recirc and it seamed to stay dry. I agree its more annoying than anything and you can definitely tell on plane time is much slower when that livewell is full of water.

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | On the Tuffy boats there is an EZ Fill Pump over the pump fitting that fills the livewell under power without the pump running if the selector is on anything but recirc. If it fills under power on recirc, the valve needs to be replaced or adjusted.
