Been using spiderwire ultracast ultimate braid since '08 and love it. Haven't had the issue that you mention. Started with 50# and did lose some dawgs to backlashes. Swapped to 80# in '10 and the stuff is incredible. Most snags you get back, I've benn able to wrap the line around a boat cleat and use the boat to pull it free or straighten the hook. Knock on wood only baits I've lost I had to cut the line.

I had many bad experiences with Spiderwire Stealth in 80lb including the line breaking on a hook set. I switched to Cortland Masterbraid in 2008 and have been very happy with the results.
