I am headed to Vilas in early October and in the past I have always targeted the bigger fish. This year I have some newer fishermen with me that would like to target numbers. I was curious where we should go to get a sucker bite or numbers casting. I dont like to go to Wildcat as a fish under 30" isnt much of a fish so I am hoping for recommendations towards good mid 30's and 40's fish...
Thanks in advance!

If you're looking at numbers, activity with suckers and a chance at decent fish. All while keeping the fishing relatively simple for new folks, I'd probably fish the hell out of LVD. Plenty of water to see and fairly easy fishing for everybody. I've had some really decent sucker days on LVD.

Turnover may just be your needle in the compass for fishing up there in early Oct. When the time gets closer, holler, I'm up in Land O Lakes and can give you an idea where local lakes are in terms of TO.
