| Noticed these baits have giant split rings on them when I picked a few up from James. Are you supposed to leave the big one on in the front eye of the bait. I don't recall ever seeing anything like this the on the musky innovations pounders. Thanks for any advice people are willing to share! |

Hi Corey,
Lots of my customers take them off. They are big enough that they will cause your leader to side at a slight angle vs inline with your leader and line. Originally I thought it would be nice to put a nice strong split ring in the nose of my lures but I soon realized they did not need it and it makes the leader snap sit at an angle. My new lures don't have the nose ring and really don't need it. The nose attachment points on my TI lures are more than large enough to get the snap through with ease. Just take it out and you have an extra split ring They are nice triples and made from tempered SS.

Location: Detroit River | I didn't like the triple split ring attached to the line tie. The split ring was too wide and didn't move freely so I took them off. On half of my MI Dawgs I had to add a split ring because I couldn't get my snap through the line tie. |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | I don't have any pounder sized ones, but I had to add a split ring to my mag and regular sized superD's so I could attach my leader. I used the Bucher #7 splitrings which are only double instead of triple, not sure if that makes a difference for anything. |

| I won't use snaps so I add a split ring to every lure I own, and attach them to a solid welded ring on my leaders. I personally do not care for the triple split rings for use on the nose of a lure though. |
