Are the gas prices at the resorts connected to the mainland around the nw angle/big narrows quite a bit cheaper than the island resorts in the area? What are the gas prices at the US resorts vs Canada resorts?

Its usually a few dollars cheaper on the mainland than at the islands. The camps have to pay for shipping it out on a barge and there is added costs. Some camps just charge you the additional to get out there (maybe a buck a gallon more), some charge more and make profit.

We haul it in from the states. 5 gallon cans. Its kinda a pain but when you are saving $20 bucks for each can you bring across, adds up after the years.

(This is closer to Sabaskong...not the NW angle, fyi)

Been fishing south of kenora for many a years, seems like its high in town or out even on a private island, or a inshore resort or camp, best to bring as much as possible back home from the States, I run a 300 Verado, and a week usually puts me back about $1,200.00 for a week, being conservative paying the $1.60 ($5.00 us around)a litre on the water. Hope this helps, and hope you have a smaller motor than a 300. Good luck.

Paid $4.30 per gallon for non-oxy gas at the Angle Outpost last week. Didn't think that was too bad...

I think they get us for about $8/gallon at Crow Rock Lodge. We spent $1200 in gas a few weeks ago!

I bring it with me and fill up in International Falls. I think this year I'll be bringing 6-8 six-gallon gas cans with me.

At the camp we stayed at this year, they charged $6.30 a gallon. I filled up before crossing the border and paid $3.50 or so per gallon, and carried an extra 36 gallons in with me. Well worth it in my opinion.

$1.90 a liter last week on the dock at the lodge we stayed at... well worth it to bring your own... Our lodge had a rule in place that you couldn't fill boat with personal gas cans on their docks... so I pushed out 20' and filled my boat there.

Youngs Bay has been in a 4.15-4.85 range this year. The Island I stayed at has been about 5.20 most of the year....There truly is a lot of money to be saved in both gas and taxes by staying at one of the US Camps
