Location: Eagan, MN | Just got back from a trip along MN / Ontario border waters. The only guy that was getting reception was on Tmobile. I'm currently on Sprint, but my contract is up and wondering if there are better choices for the far reaches of MN? Or is it hit and miss for all of them? |

| verizon has the best all around coverage, IMHO in mn. tmobile usually has the worst. after i switched from att to verizon i would never go back. the only drawback is the price you pay. they are a bit more expensive, but i cant remember the last time i didnt have a signal anywhere in mn... |

Location: MN | While not a fan of ATT, I have nearly full bars on a few different northern lakes while my son barely has any service with Verizon. Especially south of Bemidji. |

| I have AT&T and switch to Canada plan through at&t rogers. Eagle, Lake of the Woods no issues. Just my experience. |

| In northern MN verizon was always the best but, AT&T has been better the last two seasons. Especially the eastern part of the state ie. Rapids, Vermi, North Shore. I have verizon but...AT&T>Verizon lately where I fish.

I have AT&T and was midway between the angle and Sabaskong in the middle of nowhwere. Had to travel a few miles to get service through rogers for my phone.
I think much of people's service issues isn't so much the provider as it is the phone's reception capabilities. Buddy of mine had Verizon on a blackberry and we had to travel to within 5 miles of Morson and be on top of an island for him to get service.

Location: Altoona IA | Angle Inlet has a Verizon tower. I have Sprint and unfortunately I have great service in N Wisconsin and out to Oak Island on LOTW. For the most part, phones get shut off if you're in my boat. |

| I have sprint and I always contact them and pay for international usage and the cancel it when I get home. Really a plus as 2 years ago we came upon a boat that lost lower unit and called for help for them. Eagle Lake is pretty big you just cant get right up behind some of the islands or you lose coverage. |

| My plan this year is to pick up a prepaid phone in Fort Frances to use only when in Canada, seems like a better idea than changing plans and worrying about extra costs. |

What part of Sabaskong are you fishing? I have Verizon, and we fish West of Morson, but I have had no luck the last 2 years.
Previously years, fishing out of Nestor Falls, I did very well with Sprint. |

All joking aside, I just turn my phone off when we're at the cabin. We have a land line and if you need to reach me, you'll know that number. If not, well, I guess it will have to wait.
