I am considering taking a trip to st clair this fall but am concerned if I have enough boat. I am currently fishing out of a crestliner 1650 fishhawk. Have any of you used a boat this size on any of the big lakes like st clair?

If the wind is under 7mph and your on the side the wind is coming out of. She can be one mean Bit**.... I mean very mean.... I have a 18ft boat and still fish very cautiously. And also have a 2nd bilge pump to kick on...4' waves are tricky.

^ Agree St Clair can be a rough one in the Fall. "IF" you hit the weather just right you can fish some areas OK. 18 footer was the smallest I've been in out there and was limited in the water we could fish safely. Lots of Fall days the 30 footers don't feel big enough.

You should be fine I have a 1750 I go out in on st. Clair. just keep an eye on the weather. It can whip up some mean stuff pretty quick. A weather app works quite nice for the cell phone to keep informed.
