This is a completely new concept to me, and we have had some success. So when do you have your most success on any given night?

Night fishing is exactly like day fishing except that most everything is different. No answer above fits me cause if you are muskie sick you should get on the water whenever you can. Time teaches better than anything, just get out there.

Back when I participated in M1 Match Fishing I started at midnight and would do up to 20 hours on the water that night/day/night for each match. Gonzo #*#*. I learned to keep my boat and gear set for night fishing all the time because it was the most efficient, effective and safe way to thrash the waters. The biggest deal, night or day, is to minimize downtime in the boat. Change change change until you figure out the fish in that water at that time.

I look for the warmest nights and closest days to new or full moon.

IMO, the less wind the better

Bugs go away after the the first half hour or so. Otherwise, bug spray!

Yup, I'd rather fish in less wind, but I have caught more fish with a nice chop too. Majors, minors are great times to be out there at you best spot, but I have also caught plenty of fish at randoms times during the night. For the most part, I think that the first half of the night is best. I think the water cools off enough after 3am or so to slow them down. That being said, I've caught fish after that time too, so.... you gotta be out there!
