| Jason asks a question about luck on the board here and what percentage is luck.
What I really think he means to ask is what percent of factors are controllable and what percent are uncontrollable.
I might go with the 60% figure for uncontrollable influences on whether you catch a fish or not at any given time.
Obviously weather is a big factor. You can't control it. Fish feeding is another factor.
Fish fullness. The boat in front of you picking the fish off. Lots of uncontrollable factors figure in. I don't consider them luck just uncontrollable factors I may need to adjust to(if I'm gonna have any luck![;)] )

| FSF...
Does that mean he won't be waving a dead chicken and chanting in my boat any more...[]
I agree..way too many variables, but I still believe in being as prepared as possible to try and turn the tables in your favor..
Like Worrall said..there can be days you're doing everything right and they just won't bite...Then there's the kid with snoopy pole who nails a 50"er off the dock on a worm...
Muskies...gotta love'em.

| Well you have to look at that kid with the snoopy pole as a function of frequency on the random events chart. Put enough kids out there with snoopy poles and sooner or later there will be a musky interaction where the line won't be rotten, the knot will be good, the line will slip beteween two teeth, and the reel will still only have 1-2 hours usage on it and will still function for a run or two. If you flip enough coins sooner or later you will have a run of 20 consecutive heads, sooner or later...
Oh, and Jason, I wouldn't go so far as to hoping someone had figured you out yet, continue therapy please...[;)] |
