Thinking of buying one of these soon but don't too much about them. Wondering what peoples' experiences have been using them and their effectiveness. I saw they came out with some new UV color patterns such as parrot UV, sunrise UV, and golden sucker UV. Also what has been your best and most productive color in the Shallow Invader. Any input would be appreciated.

I LOVE the shallow invader. One of my favorite go to baits hands down. The only complaint a lot of guys have with it, is it's hook up ability. But a straight wire and a little bit of innovation can go a long way to making a bad hook up bait into a great one.

I have had the most strikes and fish landed on the UV perch color. But there is not really a current color out there that wont catch fish. They are excellent twitch baits, and can be trolled decently quickly. They have great kick out. But the twitch aspect to these lures in where they really shine. I am always looking to buy more Shallow invaders. They are one of my top 5 confidence baits for sure!

Thanks a lot for the input man. Yea I've heard nothing but good things about them and they look great. I'm really intrigued by the UV parrot color. On a sunny day i feel it could be an awesome choice.

The more and deeper I get into musky fishing, the more I find myself throwing gaudy colored lures

Yea i hear ya i'm totally new to musky fishing but i've always loved throwin gaudy and really cool lookin lures color wise. I know mostly everyone on here usually says perch, sucker, and more natural colors are the way to go and the most productive but i always tend to lean more towards the cooler lookin and more unique colored lures. Case in point my favorite color is blue but i hardly read any posts on here of people who use blue colored baits or have great results with them, but either way i like the color and throw them anyway.

Caught my first musky on a shallow invader while burning it! Great action and noise.

As far as hook up ability, take the two hooks off and hang a 7/0 off the front hook hanger. That's an old trick from user bturg!

These baits are great lures but I have to agree that the rear hook needs to be modified. I use a piece of wire that I loop through the rear hook hanger that extends the hook to within an inch of the tail. I use electrical tape or heat shrink to hold the rear hook horizontally. Works great for those fish that don't "inhale" the lure and only grab that rubber tail. I will try and post some images but may be some time as i don't have access to my lures right now.
