Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The weather cooperated for the most part this morning as the PMTT field headed out on the water. It looks like they might have a thundershower going through before they head in to the final virtual weigh in, but the bite should hold. 41 fish were caught yesterday, and even with the shorter day today the numbers should be good. None of the Teams we talked to were over confident despite having fish spottted to go to this morning. Watch for reports as the day progresses, and the final results later this afternoon. The event wraps up on the water at one PM, and the virtual weigh in is about 3 PM. PMTT coverage is brought to you by St Croix and Lund Boats! First off nice job Jarrod and Jeremy!! Were gonna get you guys one of these times!! Second if you think it is so easy to catch even a 30" musky please get into some of these tournaments with us and show us how its done. I know how hard it is to just catch one measurable fish in a tournament and these guys got four!! Believe me when you don't get the first fish your after in the morning and then move on to see that every other spot you want to fish has been fished it gets to be a lot harder than you would think you even put a 30 inch musky in your boat. These guys do it in almost every single tournament. The 30 inch limit makes things a lot more fun than you would think. It makes every bite you get that much more exciting and gives all the judge boats more to do is well. there is not one tournament that fills up anymore so anything they can do to boost numbers of fish and boats in the tournament is a good thing if we want these tournaments to stay around. Again congrats J&J and Jeremy I'm done with my plaque wax if you need it for that trophy now!!!

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | are we still using gas prices as the reason for musky tournament numbers being down? just want to get my story straight if someone asks :0)

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Justin, well said. To the complaining 'folks', who neither fish or attend the events: Enter, put your talents as a Muskie angler where your virtual pie hole is and win with 34" fish or better at the Eagle River event; just don't call in anything under if it offends your sensibilities. I am sure the winners will be happy to take your money most, if not all, of the time. Sled, Tourney participation is up this year across the board, Muskies, Walleyes, and Bass. Can't speak for the WMT as I don't know how that field has been, but PMTT looks like an up year.

Posts: 1220 | No....I think there is every reason to be critical of the winning team! Look at those two...big, young, strong, athletic and good looking kids. They can stand in the boat for the whole stinking tournament tossing giant baits all day, then go out on the town with a couple of beautiful girls like it was nothing. You think that's fair? Some of us have a hard enough time buying enough Viagra so that we don't pee on our shoes. You were supposed to be able to win this thing throwing Rizzo Whizzes and , frankly, that's about all I can toss without having a coronary out there. No.....I think all this criticisim is right on the money...and look at that hair! They both have a full head of hair too! No way is fair that the old guys don't win these things!! (nice boys--good going)

Posts: 1220 | And one more thing......did you notice the photo of that kid, Bo, who won Fifth place fishing with his dad? C'mon, if he were in the major leagues, Bud Selig would jump right over Ryan Braun and start testing this kid for PEDs. They don't even have a boat trailer for that Lund of theirs, Bo just carries the thing to the lake. There simply needs to be an "age adjusted" set of rules. My suggestion is that these young guys need to measure fish over 45 inches only and that us guys over Sixty should get to measure any fish over 18 inches, including Pike. Just not fair! And, I am really, really not thinking that the lousy 70 cents Senior coffee at Mc Donalds is not adequate compensation AT ALL! Edited by Junkman 6/28/2013 11:15 AM
