| Purchased a 2007 618vs with an enclosed front deck extension with a lid. I have been noticing a gas smell whenever I open the lid on the deck extension. Previous owner stated that they didn't have any issues with that. Is there a vent from the fuel tank that goes into that area. Any suggestions. |

| There is a vent underneath the extension. Maybe that is what is doing it? |

I had a 1997 681VS and bought an add-on deck extension and FWIW I never noticed any gas smell when opening the lid.
Maybe that year is diff. from what RBC has ...dunno there??
Lost her in a garage fire in 2011 dangit!! Wonderful boat. |

| Mine is a '97. Both front compartments have a little gas smell most of the time. Like fumes from the front tank are getting there somehow. Annoying. Other than that love the boat.
