Random quote: I understand Hopeful's change of addiction from Golf to Muskie fishing. Muskie angling doesn't require as much pointless exercise.

The Northwoods Chapter of Muskies Inc. will be presenting a special outing on October 5, 2013. The Presque Isle Yacht Club will be our host venue as we spend the day fishing your choice of four lakes in the Presque Isle area. A big fish contest is the highlight of the days fishing and live bait will be allowed. Following the days fishing we will convene at the P I Yacht Club for the award of prizes and a brief meeting followed by a seminar presented by Howie Meyer who is a chapter member and long time guide in Presque Isle. Cost for the event is $25.00 per angler. One third of the monies from entry fees will be paid to the winning angler, one third will be awarded to a random participant determined by drawing from all participants. The final third of the money will be retained by the club to further our goals of helping to improve the fisheries in our area. Pre-registration for the event can be done at Rollie & Helen’s Musky Shop in Minocqua and at the Presque Isle Yacht Club. Further information can be found on our website: www.northwoodsmuskies.com and on our associated Facebook Page.

Correction the payout is half and half to big fish winner and club. There will be other prizes and raffles for participants.

Thanks to all who participated especially Howie Meyer for sharing so much knowledge and Norm Brod for contributing a life sized musky carving for our big raffle. Andrew Ragas won the big fish prize taking home a $340.00 check for a 43" fish. Fishing was a bit tough with very heavy rains moving through the area but everyone had a good time and a decent number of fish were caught. Stay tuned for details on our next big event which will be our first annual Christmas party.
