Posts: 19 | Does anyone know specs on this boat as far as top speed? Obviously depending on motor... Specifically I am wondering between the Yamaha 250 SHO and the Yamaha 300 four stroke?

Posts: 134 Location: Central Wi | I was over to the Skeeter Boat Center and talked with Dean Marshall earlier this year, super nice guy... The MX2025 looks like a really nice ride and great setups with the Yamaha motors... There is all kinds of space, and tons of storage. Not to mention you also have long rod storage (12') on the sides... They are worth taking a look at if your looking for a new rig... Edited by mattgski 5/22/2013 9:25 AM

Posts: 2042 | Its interesting to me everyone wants to know what the "top speed" for a boat is. I had a bass boat for 9 years, so ya I "had" to see how fast it would go...70.2 on GPS perfect conditions....but you know what, I can count the number of minutes on one hand that I drove that boat 65 mph+ in 8 years? All 20-21' walleye boats with the right prop will run 55 mph with a 250hp ....you would pick one boat over the other because one does 57mph vs 62 mph? You wont be driving the boat under ideal conditions balls to the wall all that often anyway.

Posts: 19 | Besides running a bass boat in huge waves, that would be the way to go, so good job to you for going that fast! But it's not idea for me to buy a bass boat to go walleye fish mille lacs. But I do want the fastest multi species boat while I am fishing tournaments. Each boat that passes u on the way to your spot is another guy that will catch the fish that could win the tourney from your spot.... So sorry I care about wanting to make sure I make the right choice in getting my 5 extra miles per hour.

Posts: 2042 | 22' bass boat will handle rough water as well as a multi-species, If you want to be first to a spot, go 80+ ![]()

And, it's not always the boat hull that's the fastest, it's frequently the motor, rigging, and prop that makes the boat faster. If you want your Skeeter to be rigged to the max, check out Grandpa Joe's Marine.
