My buddy was running planer boards out of his back yard in the current and doing well the past few days. 6 fish up to 47"s shortlining from his porch.

We thought about trolling some of our local roadways...

Or even fishing at the zoo.

I was out 2 weeks ago on sunday got on the water around 400am stayed untill about 3pm. Fished Catherine and Channel water temps were 39'f and extremely windy. Later in the day when the sun came out temps 40'f...41'f in some spots. Only fish seen were huge shad floating on top of the water. I just wanted to get out and try some new gear. Thinking about going south this weekend though.

ToothyCritter where is muskytales launch located? Last time I was in the cary store the guys were saying they were opening a shop on the chain, never been there. I usually launch at barnacle bobs.

I still launch and barnicle bobs its a nicer launch. But I know they were talking about redoing it. If you keep going west on 173 past barnicle bobs and you go over the bridge between channel and Marie you will make the immediate right into that parking lot and its at the bottom of the hill.

Any word on if the flooding has gone down? The river is still really high and closed to boats.

Looks like the chain will be closed for the next week or so. Water is dropping around 3" per day, two feet left to go to be below flood stage. Amazing.

It will be awhile for sure.

And be careful after that, I've seen alot of logs, and piers, and pilings floating around out there before....some of it just under the surface. Just go easy.

See any fish? I'm assuming those are main lake temps on the northern lakes
