I was curious to know how many weights other people use when throwing 10's on the PG Tranx. This reel brings 10's in with zero effort, but I'm still having a few backlash issues. I had three weights on and was getting good distance with moderate spool tension, but I was backlashing a bit. When I had four weights on, I could let up on the spool tension with no backlashes, but wasn't getting as much distance. What do you guys do?

Set the Tranx with 3 brakes on, cast control set so the spool will not move side to side, make sure the line is tight on the spool and not over filled. When casting DCG10 I like a rod with a softer tip, if U are using a XXH try a XH rod. Also try adding more weight to the DCG10 so they will bend the rod tip when casting.

Thanks guys. I have it on a Sling Blade Pikemaster and it loads-up pretty well.

How do you set/adjust the number of weights?

Spool Brakes are on the right side of the Tranx spool and there are 6 brakes, out is on and push in for the brake to turn off.
