I've fished West Okoboji a couple of times and didn't have much luck, couple follows but not much else. I always seem to hear about people fishing west okoboji, but I never really hear of anyone fishing anyother parts of the chain. Is west the better option or is there fish to be had on other parts of the chain? Thanks for the info.

Depends on the time of year you go there.late august thru october are traditionally the best times for west okoboji. I like spirit lake in june and july and east okoboji can be good also during june thru september but has a lot of boating activity on weekends or nice days.muskie population on west is way down right now due to them going over spillway.

I personally prefer big spirit lake, haven't had much luck on west. I'm there almost every weekend. Its great to fish if you know where to go when they're bitting.
