i will still be using mine this year.i have it on a 9' predator x hevyi use it for dubble 10s.ill be useing it till i get a tranx pg.so to answer you if you can get one for the right price buy it

ITs my go to DCG & SuperModel reel unless I want insane speed thatn I use my HG Tranx...

I use this reel for one reason. Burning smaller blades when speed is the thing.

One of the best reels i've ever owned unless your casting into a NW wind at 20 mph.

Had mine up for sale for maybe an hour after picking up a Tranx HG. Then decided I couldn't part with it... been wanting to do some vertical jigging with Bondy's and tubes and figured this would be a great choice for it.

I have had the following reels for cowgirls
Calcutta 400 w power handle
Trinidad 16n
Trinidad 16na
Trinidad 12 with LVJ handle
Tranx HG with LVJ handle
and the only one I still have is the Trinidad12....nuff said

I have had some thought about the trinidad. Is the reel engagment an issue using a manual lever?

Not really, comes pretty automatic after turning the handle, not getting anywhere. I use the 12, and i like it a lot. Not larger than an AMB Classic, but a powerhouse. But IMO the Trinidad, is not a beginners reel for baitcasting.
