Operation Muskie 2013 will be our 6th year of operation. We'll be sending our 101st - 120th Veterans to Walsh's Bay Store Camp on LOTW. This is a "welcome home" to Veterans returning from recent combat deployments. Veterans are provided a 5 day all expense paid trip to Canada. 20 Veterans are paired with 10 world class muskie guides. Operation Muskie is truly a not for profit organization. The entire staff and guides are volunteers and donate their time.

Our primary fund raiser is an online auction. We'll be hosting the auction in the MuskieFirst chat room on Wed, Apr 17 at 7:00 PM CST.

Thanks to our many great sponsors (guides, lure manufacturers, resorts, companies...) for their continued support. If you are interested in donating an item for the raffle, please send me a PM or email me at [email protected]. I will need all items by the end of Mar.

Game on! Jeff, if you wanted to donate one of those model airplanes you have on your ramp I'm sure you could raise $5 or $10 bucks.

Lots of great gear, guide trips and resorts coming in for the online auction. Make sure you set aside Apr 17, 7 PM CST to approx 10 PM. It will be a fun night and raise $ for a great cause.

Last year, several people had problems with the MuskieFirst chat room during the OM auction. As soon as you made a comment, you got logged out. Last year the fix was to download and run from Firefox. I am not a techie guy, so I do not know the best way...

I do recommend testing the chat room. Make sure you coordinate a test with someone else to see if you get logged out after a comment.

Steve, you are a tech genius... can you provide some info to everyone so they can make sure they have the right software to be online in the chat room for the online auction?

Arkadiy you really out did yourself bud! Smoking baits brother. My dad nabbed his PB up on the woods last year on a classy baby.

This may be the perfect time to try St. Croix's 9 foot Legend Tournament "Big Nasty." I was told this was a really popular item last year and have sent along another one for this year's auction. They will likely pair it with a top-notch winder too. This is "The One Stick" if you can have only one rod in the boat. It will change your view on what a difference one great rod can make. Most of all, you will likely get a great deal and all the proceeds will benefit a totally nice cause. Actaully, proud to be associated with these guys even in a small way. (I'd have donated a "guide trip" instead but didn't want to see how small the bids would have been) Marty Forman

Thanks for the great donations so far from Corey, Roger, PSV, and Marty, and there are many others that aren't on this thread. Gonna be a fun evening of the auction.

For all you out there looking for a day of torture out in the middle of nowhere trying to find a "blind musky", I'm putting a guide date together also. Working on another waterfowl trip as well.

AND... the auctioneer is very funny and a good muskie fisherman... OK... at lest I am funny!

Auction lots are coming together nicely. I hope to start posting lots with pictures and descriptions soon.

Make sure you test the chat room. Try a few chats and make sure you do not get logged off after each reply.

Lots will be posted this weekend. I have a ton of stuff and more coming in. I am a kid in a candy store... every few hours I go to the basement to check out the cool lures!

Just a reminder... online live auction will be Wed, Apr 17 at 7 PM CST in the MuskieFirst chat room. Make sure you test the chat room to make sure your operating system supports it.

Thanks to all the great supporters that make OM possible!! Thanks for taking care of our Vets!!!
