Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The bite on day one wasn't as hot as last year, yet 16 muskies hit the net for the 80 teams fishing the Cave at the Professional Muskie Tournament Trail event on Cave Run. Kahl and Shultz lead, Team Season is in second, G-Rome is in third, Walls and Chackbengboung hold down fourth, and Stewart and Ferjutz round out the top 5.

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Weather at the Cave Run PMTT this morning looks good. A little bit of over cast and some rain coming for the late afternoon and possibly into tomorrow. Pre-fishing reports sounded good with a few nice fish caught including a 46.5". Eighty boats headed out this morning. PMTT Coverage is brought to you by St. Croix Rods ! Location: Eastern Ontario | I notice all the boats have their lockers open, whats the idea behind that? I know bass tournaments sometimes inspect for live bait but have never seen a muskie tournament. Tournaments would be difficult to hold in Ontario because anything under the min. size limit can not be held and requires immediate release. Technically you are not even allowed to hold it for a picture.

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Reports from the field are looking ok so far. Some big fish are being caught and it's a tough bite. But it looks like the fish that are being caught are quality fish with one very fat 47" so far.

Posts: 696 Location: Northern Illinois | Is there a link so we can stay updated all day long? I went to the site but it doesn't seem to have one or they just haven't updated it yet. Anyone have a great spot to get the info?

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We update as we get the information from the pmtt, I don't think any other updates are published until the virtual weigh in each day.

Yep thats Nick Adams and Shan Horsley from Vanceburg. They thought they would give their "creek musky" skills a test run on the big pond. Let's hope they double up today!
