Whats your guess, on when ice-out will be, on the "Big V".
I know the Lake Vermilion website has a contest on the day the ice goes off.
Just thought it would be fun to take a stab at it.
Looks like it might not be off for the walleye opener.

My guess is May 7th.

I just got back from V. Checked on cabin and drilled a few holes. The ice was still 28" to 30"...estimate. My auger went all the way to the engine housing before reaching water. It was snowing like mad when I left and snowed again last night and today. Long term forecast is for below normal temps well into April.

My guess is around May 13th to 15th.

Hope I'm way wrong cause I've got a week long bass trip planned for opening week.

Brian

The only Spring in the North country right now holds up the butt end of my truck.

IALTO didn't go over well this morning making my daughter bring her snow pants to school after taking a deer tick off her shirt last night. Just wait till tomorrow. 6 to 12 more inches of spring .
