John Anderson, Muskie Guide
– John has been a guide since 1977, educator, speaker, writer, researcher, television guest, and tournament pro. He has been a feature speaker at several of the biggest musky shows in the US and has landed the biggest musky ever for many of the US and Canada’s most prominent television fishing personalities. He is a musky behavior expert and you are guaranteed to be both entertained and smarter about Canada’s greatest fresh water apex predator. Sponsors include Crestliner, Mercury, Andre Lalonde Marine, St. Croix, Sail, Spanky Baits, and the Motel Rouleau.

Alexandra Brett, Communications Director, Ottawa Riverkeeper
– Alex Brett comes to Ottawa Riverkeeper with a firm grounding in aquatic biology, over 20 years of work in science communications, and a broad range of experience producing exhibitions, articles, print and audio products, and educational material, all with a focus on making science relevant and engaging to a wide range of people. After years of working in and around the federal government, she is delighted to finally have a job where asking questions and demanding change are part of the job description. Alex holds a BSc (Hons) from Dalhousie University and spent several years in graduate school in fish biology. In addition to working in science communications she has done time as a park naturalist and a fisheries technician. She has also published two crime novels, both revolving around science fraud.

Jennifer Lamoureux, Rideau Valley Conservation Authority
– As the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority's (RVCA) Aquatic and Fish Habitat Biologist for the past 13 years, Jennifer Lamoureux has provided a range of professional biological services and advice to support the programs and activities of the RVCA and its partners. Jennifer manages the Conservation Authority’s aquatic monitoring programs and provides technical input in support of the RVCA programs in regulations, planning and development review, watershed monitoring and reporting, restoration and stewardship and watershed management planning. Jennifer has provided technical input and advice from an aquatic ecology perspective for over 1500 development projects in the Rideau Valley Watershed.

Dan Taillon, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ontario
– Dan Taillon is Recreational Fisheries Policy lead with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Fisheries Policy Section in Peterborough. Prior to taking on this role, he spent five years as the Peterborough Area Biologist and worked closely with the Fisheries Management Zone 17 Advisory Council on the development of the FMZ 17 Fisheries Management Plan. Additional MNR work experience includes time as a Fisheries Biologist with Fort Frances District and the Lake Erie Management Unit. Dan is the primary MNR contact with Muskies Canada for the volunteer angler diary program.

Josh Van Wieren, Park Ecologist - St. Lawrence Islands National Park,
Parks Canada
– Josh has played an important role in a partnership between Parks Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, and Muskies Canada in developing a seining program to discover important muskellunge nursery habitat on the upper St. Lawrence River. Josh has also helped to develop a nationwide standard for monitoring the health of wetlands habitat.
