do you catch more fish on jointed baits or straight baits? and why. Whats your two favorite trolling baits?
This season i am focusing on improving my trolling game, with a new proper trolling set up and the right baits I am hoping to learn more and produce some fish with this method.

Location: Maplewood, MN | I haven't given jointed baits much time trolling, but solid body cranks have done well from what I've witnessed. I also know a guy you swears by jointed cranks as well. They will both catch fish, time and a place sort of deal. |

| Jointed have more action. I feel you can troll faster with straights. When I troll I put out a mixture, just depends on the fish want that day. |

| I have done best on straight baits like tuff shads (shad style) over jointed but have been buying more jointed lately and plan on giving them more of a chance this year. |

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | I've done better on jointed crankbaits, lots of erractic action. That being said i feel there is definitely a time and place for straight crankbaits especially when it comes to getting baits down deeper.

Location: WI | I don't use jointed much, but I did catch a 50" on a jtd Believer. In the fall I'm usually running big baits, and most of those are straight models. Maybe I should give jointed baits more swimming time... |

Location: Canada | Caught fish last year trolling small shad style baits and also did well using jointed lures like - Wiley Headshakers and Lawrence Lures (see link in my signature). |

| When the water is under 60deg. I do far better on Straight baits.
Seems the warmer the water the better I do on jointed. Also dirty water durring summer I seem to always get more hits on jointed.

| jointed black night shiner bucher, old pig jr firetiger short I(heavy bill) changed when steal prices went up if you can bend it replace it! 9inch jakes for straight. this should get you off to a good start |
