Does anybody use shrinktube on their leaders to prevent line from being cut by the wrappings?

Do you use a snap, a snap + swivel or a splitring?

I use a coastlok snap.

I dont and havent had a problem with a break off. Interesting thought though. I use split rings and no snaps. And will use a swivel as well. But not always.

120 pound single wire with a snap at one end and a BB swivle at the other. I don't like to use a split ring in place of the swivle, I have had the ring "unwind" itself while casting.

This year I'm taking some of my favorite gliders and giving them all their own, permanently attached leaders.
Kinda like Strikers or Eddies. I figure that the wire loop that I make is stronger than any ring or snap. This will also force me to retie more often....something I never do enough.
Besides, it's a good reson to keep me in the basement til the season starts [;)]

Beaver, that is a wise move. I keep extra leaders in the boat that are ready with a loop and all I need to do is just fasten it to the bait.
Dirk, I have been shrink tubing over my leader crimps and twists for about 15 years now. My belief is that if you have a weak spot those big girls will find it.
