Location: Oregon, WI | When the wind is blowing with a contour I'm trying to follow and drifting with the wind is too fast I find it easier to point the bow into the wind and set the trolling motor speed such the I get the right pace drifting backwards rather than having to power into the wind with the trolling motor set at a high speed. Also helps batteries last longer. My question is, is i link smart enough to regulate the speed if going with the wind or follow a contour/track/etc with the boat going backwards?

| From what i have here you still can controll your speed manually when using the follow the contour. |

| You can follow a contour either way. So, if the wind is pushing you at say 1.5 and you want to go .75 the same way, if you set the cruise at say .75 you should be ok. However, cruise works best with steady or no wind. You would be better off moving slowly into the wind rather than slipping. The more thrust the motor uses (to attain a certain speed) the more control you'll have. I'd try it to be sure though. Let us know how it works!

Location: Oregon, WI | Just thought it might use up batteries less if trying to slow the drift rather than going against the wind where it would have to overcome it by the speed you want to move.
Thanks, I have to play with it some once we get some open water. |
