I have most of my barbs bent down most of the way.

I dont like going to the emergency room or urgent care. easily costs a few hundred dollars and lose the rest of the day on the water for that. I'd rather miss a few fish here and there and still be able to pull hooks out of me without the help of a physician.

Haven't noticed a difference, but that's probably because I don't catch enough muskies to make a good conclusion for one way or the other.

I think there is more damage done to the fish tring to get hooks out than during the actual fight. Once the fish is in the net, take a look and if there is any doubt, just start cutting. Its not worth killing a fish to save a couple bucks on trebles. If people are good about cutting hooks (and I know Im probably preaching to the choir here), I dont see any reason not to use barbs. Although those pictures may scare me into it
