I have a friend who is interested in making some of his baits with resin. But he wants to continue using Laquer based paints. Does anyone here paint their resin baits with laqcer paint like automotive lacquer?? If so, are there specific primers required or what? I think he tried it and said the paint did not seem to adhere and fish-eyed like crazy. Any comments or advice for him would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

~Paul

He might be having a problem with mold release. The lure has to be free from the release for the paint to adhere.
You can try PH Doc Martins Creatix for a primer or use a a paint adhesion promoter.
