Location: Sun Prairie, Wisconsin | The Terrova is great for anyone that runs the boat from the back. Frankly, I use both the foot and the hand control. The nice thing about the IP is that it gives you options to run the boat the way that works FOR YOU. The spot lock is fantastic! The foot control works well. No other system can compare. I do use the autopilot at times to follow a line. For me, it allows me to fish more efficient. Again, that is me. In the words of old blue eyes... "Do it your way"! |

| For the Spot Lock to function correctly, do you have to run it through a Humminbird unit or is the Spot lock an independent feature to the motor itself? And same question for Auto Pilot? (It is my understanding the i-Pilot LINK only works w / specific Humminbird units.) |

Location: Maine Township, MN | I have the iPilot on a powerdrive and haven't missed the pedal one bit. I also have an open storage locker because I have no use for an anchor. When I hook a fish, it's second nature to hit the spot lock. Awesome! |

| I bought a powerdrive ipilot and sold it for the terrova. Everyone will prefer something different. There is no right or wrong. |

| The pedal is handy when your fishing flooded timber. I bought one for the power drive i used to have and ended up selling it after 2 uses. I hate not having the foot pedal since it frees your hands up. |

| Does down imaging work w / the U2 sonar of the Terrova? If not, is it possible to mount the additional DI transducer to a Terrova w / U2? Would one even want to do this? |

| IMHO the Ipilot simply gives you the most options to control your boat in the way that works best for you! I personally don't understand how you could use the remote and fish at the same time! If I am fishing I use the foot pedal, but the remote is always handy. Once a fish is in the net you can hit spot lock and keep from drifting on to the spot or into danger. If I'm guiding I use the remote because I can move freely around the boat. I agree with Mike about working a spot too fast but I prefer to use AP and constant because I think switching the motor on and off and making large steering moves is more obtrusive to the fish than a constant quiet drone. These are simply my opinions and what works for me. The point is: I always want the maximum amount of versatility. Almost every day we encounter unique fishing scenarios and situations. I want every possible tool to deal with them! I've always thought... If I'm not the smartest, most talented fisherman... I can make up for some of my shortcomings by working harder and having the best possible equipment! |

Location: St. John, Indiana | I couldn't agree more.... Most fishing pros that ive ever heard speak on trolling motors says the same thing about running a trolling motor on constant is better then turning it on, off, on , off, etc. |
