I'm looking at a new boat that comes with a Vinyl Floor only! Is it slippery when wet or when it snows? I would like to have at least snap out carpet but no option. Anybody with a Vinyl floored boat opinons appreciated. Thanks

I have vinyl flooring on the main floor and carpet on the decks, and no it is not slippery when it gets wet. Snow I would say probably yes, as even carpet tends to get slippery when the flakes start flying. I will tell you it stays much cleaner and is easier to clean when it does get dirty. As for snap in carpet, any good upholstery shop (like the one I work at) can pattern your floor and get it custom built for your boat. We do quite a few every year, replacements and customs. Hope that helps!

I would go vinyl in the bottom, carpet on the decks. I fell twice casting bigger baits with a dew on the vinyl.

Have vinyl in my striper boat. Throwing cast-nets,shad slime, ect. No problems as long as the shoes or boots you are wearing aren't slick and worn. Then it can be dangerous. My carpet is worn out on my river-jet rig and i plan on replacing it with vinyl from cabelas. That stuff is tuff as nails and will last for years and is simple to clean.
