Subject: It's a Fluke

I just finished pouring and testing my newest creation. I call it the B.P. Fluke. It's kinda unique in that it swims on it's side like a flounder or a fluke as we called them in N.C. Like a shad or a panfish on its last fin. Also the B.P. stands for big profile. It's also translucent, in that light will shine through it somewhat during high noon. I used 175# ss bead chain through constuction for two reasons, 1 for strength and flexability, and 2 so it could be rigged and weighted in numerous configurations.
When I tested it today it did every thing I had hoped for and a few extra surprises. On a straight retrieve it swam on its side real nice. When jerked it walked the dog erratically. But when I gave it a little slack it would flutter down and sometimes turn 180 and swim away from me. When I get this bait dialed in I will make sure a few of you soft plastic fans get one to try out. I have no real plans to produce this one to sell caus I got bigger fish to fry right now. I would however like a few opinions on this bait and I encourage some smart ass remarks like the ones that I dish out occasionally[:0]
Thanks RAZE

Raze, looks pretty danm cool to me also. I really hope that I am one of those soft plastic fans and can get my hands on one or two of these bad boys. Keep me in mind and I would certainly swap a jig or two with you in trade.

No prob M1, just got me a few gallons of goo, and the chain is on its way. Spring is right around the corner.I am concerned about hooking percentages so much feedback is needed in this area as possible. Also this bait is 8" long 3.5 wide and .5 thick. I'm making a sevenstrand hook harness for on the topside that would break away on contact

Thanks, Todd!,
I'll make sure yer one of the 1st to get one. I'll be sure to add some extra stablizer in yours, don't want it to melt during one of those erratic retrieves. LOL

Looks like a big piece of plactic that should be saved and mounted as a mail box to scare the mailman.

Thanks, Ralph!
Hopefully I will remain the #1 skeptic for this bait. It only took a few hours to design and mold this one, and for it to turn out so well really was a Fluke. I got you on my list and hopefully sometime in Jan.I'll pump a bunch out for you guys.

Good Idea, E
I'll just have to rename it the Rubberscary. Birds of a feather, fish together. LOL

Rubberscary, a scary bait that a big fish just ate. Kind has a ring to it

raze, awesome looking bait man! I'm sure you'll do well on it. I've tried something similar with a mann's 8" shad.

Thanks, Divani!
20 yrs ago Bagleys B-Flat was one of my best producing baits. I have also done well with the Ace Flipper. Along with the flash, these baits also gave a broad target. I just got tired of shelling out all that dough on the soft stuff only to have it torn apart by the toothy one. The only things that set this one apart from some of the others is that it was designed to run on its side and the tail is curved downward. I also threw in a 3-D gill plate in case there's a fish out there that gives a dang. You have a lot of great looking baits and if this thing will catch em, maybe we could do a trade in the future. I guess I could throw you a side view.

That thing looks great but where are the hooks? I hope you won't lose your action by adding some hooks on it. I can just imagine the nice splash you get when this baby hits the water. [:p]
