I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I buy a used platinum chip 2012 will it work on my graph if its been used in another graph. I hear somewhere that once the chip has been inserted to a unit it is the encoded to only work on that unit. Thank you for any info

It will work, as long as the unit accepts that kind of chip. Lake master chip for humminbird is not going to work in an HDS unit for example.

Guest, I don't mean to hijack your thread but I too wanted to know people's thoughts on the Navionics Chips? (Not sure if it my POS computer but the thread search function isn't working.) I currently run a pair of 2009 Lakemasters in my HDS 7's but am looking to obtain some Wisconsin data without having to buy 2 chips (only really want one for the bow). The few lakes that I want to fish in the Barron Co. area are listed on the Navionics website as being included but my real question is regarding the detail. I like Lakemaster but now that they are exclusive to HB I obviously won't be going that way. I appreciate anybody's presepective. Thanks.
