Thanks James, the 7.5 inch can be worked in the 1’-6’ range.  The 10” gets a bit deeper to 8’.  You can read my spiel about the baits on my website www.woodbridgebay.com

That’s a pretty sweet contest you are starting with your blanks.  I may be able to come close to matching your blank pricing for a limited time, but I’m not in your league when it comes to hosting a cool contest like that –awesome.

Mike,
Thanks again for the great deal on the Molly blanks. It was great talking with you the other day. In my opinion the Molly is one of the best twitch baits ever made. Without looking back into the logbook I would say it has put close to 40 fish in the boat. My friend has 15 fish on one lure. No paint left, one eye, lip is beat to hell and still in action.

Hey thanks Dave, the pleasure was mine.  And thank you very much for the glider you gave me, it looks great.  Good luck with the baits, I’d love to see your paint jobs when you’re done.  Stick a pig this weekend!

I got 4 of these babies to paint from my buddy Allegheny River kid...I'll post them when I finish....I like the profile of these and they should make a nice canvas for lure painting!

That’s a sweet pattern River Musky!

Attn guys who are painting these, a thick clear coat is not needed, the thinner the better.  Hook rash wearing through to the plastic will not harm the bait.  They are a tough bait that will last you a looooong time.

Also, a mod idea for you, they a make a great jointed bait too, cut it in half just behind the middle hook hanger and epoxy in a couple of long screw eyes.

Have fun.

If you don't mind me asking...Do you pour these yourself and what material is that you're using for the blanks?? I just painted four of them for a friend and they are certainly a nice shape and surface to paint on. Thanks.

The Molly Baits are not hand poured.   They are injection molded in a factory outside of Chicago; they are made out of ABS plastic with blowing agents.  I make the MDR Choppers this way too.  The new ones I’m making that you can see in the “low budget molding” thread are hand poured polyurethane; they actually have a better surface finish.  The injection molded ones get a lot of “flow lines” as you may have noticed.  I’m looking forward to hopefully see your paint jobs on those.

And thanks, I like the shape too, I try to be different than most stuff out there.  In all my baits there is not one flat surface on them, I like a free flowing complex geometry.

Very nice, I like the way you blended the physical gill line with your masked one.  I’d fish that train wreak for sure!

Hey Guys,
I just finished up painting 12 of these Molly baits for Silvia over at the Penn-Jersey MI 50 club and thought I would share some photos of them. Some of these may be in their upcoming lure auction, so maybe Silvia will chime in say if they are going to be and give us some details on their auction.

Thanks & Happy Holidays,
Mark Wright

Mark & Anthony,

All I can say is wow, wow, wow!! The baits look absolutely amazing! Most are destined for monthly meeting raffles, but without a doubt a couple of these will have to go into MI50 Penn/Jersey's Spring Online Auction in April 2013 for our stocking efforts here in southeastern, PA. I foresee some major bidding battles on these beauties!

Thanks Mark and Anthony!!!
