Any chance that some were made by Jack Cobb....with the handwritten signature appearing to be Cable?
You might check this site...notice it shows the same diagonally painted paint pattern in 2 cases. They may be made with metal lips now.

Single lure is a 6inch warner shadbait,don't think he makes baits anymore.

the bait looks like it has very clearly written Jack Cable ? Not Cobb. I never heard of a Cable bait ? The individual lure? I have some smaller Warner baits and they usually have Warner written on the underside of the lure. here is a picture of a Warner bait on the top and the unknown lure under it.....are they both Warners? JB

yes, they are both warners,some years he didn't put a name on bottom

My bet is that Jack Cobb made that first batch and when he wrote his name with paint, the "o" was just a bit off and the last "b" was just a bit more open than the one that came before it thus producing what appears to be Cable though Cobb was intended.
